Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is employed to prevent the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message can be sent from one address, but to appear as being sent from another, typically with the objective to scam the recipient someway. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain, a unique record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers worldwide have it. The record contains all of the mail servers that are permitted to send authentic messages from an e-mail address part of the domain. When a message is sent, the first DNS server it encounters checks the SPF record and when the sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the targeted destination. In case, however, the sending server is not contained in the SPF record for the given domain, the e-mail message won't be submitted and it will be removed. If you use this solution, it will stop third parties from sending spam emails that appear to have been sent from you.
